The famous green crocodile of the sports and fashion brand Lacoste features prominently on the majority of the products and garments that the company designs and produces. The story of the brand starts back in the early Nineteen Thirties when esteemed and successful tennis player Rene Lacoste teamed up with the leading designer French knitwear brand ran by entrepreneur Andre Gillier to create a range of high class sportswear that Rene could wear whilst on the court, with an eye to easy promotion and a project to work on once retired from the game of Tennis. Today the company hasn’t strayed too far from its origins, having sponsorship deals in place with leading players including Andy Roddick and Richard Gasquet. The company has become particularly well known for its range of polo shirts which continue to be a wardrobe staple year after year and have high popularity around the world. As the company has diversified and expanded its range and collections, one major element of this has been its Lacoste Trainers. The Lacoste footwear range has been an instant success with their minimal styling perfect for both casual and sports styles. Maximising the coverage of the footwear range the company also created Lacoste Shoes for those who prefer a more formal style. Key models include Lacoste Rene and Lacoste Live both of which are available both online and in store. |
